AAAMC 2006 Annual Meeting Pursuing Excellence - Creating Value
27 October 2006 1 November 2006, Seattle, USA |
The theme of the 2006 AAMC annual meeting is pursuing excellence, creating value. It represents our belief that medical schools and teaching hospitals can create extraordinary value for our society by carrying out our missions of education, research, and patient care with regard for the highest standards of excellence.
With this theme we remind ourselves of the enduring values that our institutions affirm when they advance their missions with steadfast pursuit of quality for the public good. At the same time, in an era when "value" has become synonymous with "low cost," we also need to remind ourselves that we must create value in an effective and efficient way to be truly responsive to public needs.
